B4GLOW guide
Hair texture types: straight, wavy, curly and coily explained
Short answerHair texture describes the natural pattern of your hair when it dries without styling: straight lies flat, wavy forms loose S-shapes, curly forms defined loops, and coily forms tight springs or zig-zags. Texture decides which cuts work, how hair should be cut (wet or dry) and which products to use.

How to check your texture
- Wash your hair and skip all products.
- Let it air-dry without brushing.
- Look at the pattern from the roots to the ends. Many people have more than one pattern.
Cuts and care for each texture
- Straight: blunt shapes and precise layers; volumising spray at the roots.
- Wavy: layers that let waves form; light cream or mousse.
- Curly: cut dry, curl by curl; leave-in conditioner, no dry brushing.
- Coily: shapes built around natural volume; rich moisture and protective styles.
