The four measurements
- Face length: from the centre of your hairline to the tip of your chin.
- Forehead width: across the widest part of your forehead.
- Cheekbone width: across the highest point of each cheekbone.
- Jaw width: from the corner of the jaw below one ear to the other.
Read your result
- Oval: face is about one and a half times longer than wide, jaw slightly narrower than the forehead, soft curves.
- Round: length and width are close, full cheeks, soft rounded jaw.
- Square: forehead, cheekbones and jaw are similar widths with a strong, angular jaw.
- Oblong: face is clearly longer than wide, with fairly straight sides.
- Heart: wide forehead and cheekbones narrowing to a smaller, pointed chin.
- Diamond: cheekbones are the widest point, with a narrower forehead and chin.
- Triangle: jaw is wider than the forehead.
The faster way: a selfie
B4GLOW finds 478 points on your face, corrects for head tilt, and compares the same measurements automatically. It scores you against all seven shapes, so if you sit between two shapes you can see how close you are to each. The photo never leaves your phone.
Tips for an accurate result
- Pull your hair back off your face and forehead.
- Look straight at the camera with a neutral expression.
- Use soft, even light from the front, not from above.
- Hold the camera at eye level, about an arm’s length away.
